IFS Intensives
IFS Intensives offer a spacious, immersive opportunity for deep therapeutic work in a short period of time. Rather than meeting one hour a week over the course of months or years, an intensive allows us to slow the pace, reduce external distractions, and give your internal system the focused attention it may be asking for.

Many people choose an intensive when they feel ready to go deeper, are at a transition point, or want dedicated time to work with specific patterns, parts, or life experiences in a supported and contained way.

Each intensive is thoughtfully tailored to you—your goals, your nervous system, and what your parts need to feel safe enough to engage.

Getting Started: 20-Minute Consultation (free)
If you’re interested in an intensive, we begin with a complimentary 20-minute consultation call. This is a space for us to explore what you’re hoping for and assess whether an intensive feels like a good fit, and to identify factors that may make intensive work less appropriate at this time, such as acute crisis, significant external constraints, or the need for more frequent support.

If we decide to move forward, the next step is to schedule a 75-minute pre-intensive intake session. Electronic intake forms will be sent to you to be completed before the intake session.

Please note that participating in the pre-intensive intake does not guarantee moving forward with the intensive. If it is determined during the intake process that intensive work is not right for you at the moment (e.g., acute crisis, significant external constraints, safety issues), we will not be able to proceed with intensive work. Not everyone is a good candidate for intensive work, and part of my role is to help assess this thoughtfully and collaboratively.
Structure & Fees
Pre-Intensive Intake (75 minutes - $225)
This session is dedicated to clarifying goals and intentions, understanding your internal system and nervous system capacity, and designing a plan for the intensive. Each intensive is fully tailored to the individual—there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

IFS Intensive (3 hours - $450)
IFS Intensives are designed to be flexible and responsive to each client’s needs, capacity, and nervous system pacing. Intensives are offered in 3 hour sessions, providing dedicated time for focused, immersive work while remaining supportive and sustainable. If more time is needed, there may be an option to add additional hours ($135 for each additional hour).
It is generally recommended to engage in a series of 3-6 intensives, which can be scheduled once a week, every other week, or once a month. Timing, pacing, and number of intensives are collaboratively determined and subject to availability (IFS Intensives are generally held on a Sunday or Friday).

Post-Intensive Integration (60 minutes - $175)
After the series is complete, we meet for a 60-minute follow-up session. This time is dedicated to integration—making meaning of the work, supporting your system in what comes next, and discussing whether another intensive feels appropriate or if things feel complete for now.

Ketamine-Assisted IFS
For some clients, IFS Intensives may include Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). When used in psycholytic (low-dose) ranges, it may help soften rigid patterns, reduce protective intensity, and increase access to Self-energy—while allowing you to remain oriented, relational, and actively engaged in parts work. This approach aligns with IFS principles by supporting connection rather than bypassing protectors or inner experience.
KAP is always optional and is considered only when it is clinically appropriate, medically safe, and feels aligned for you.

Pre-KAP Prep Sessions (60 minutes - $175)
If we determine that KAP may be a good fit, prep sessions will be required prior to integrating ketamine. This preparation phase is intended to prepare individuals for deeper work using ketamine, and allows us to build safety, clarify intentions, establish an IFS framework, and ensure that your system is adequately supported. It is recommended to have at least 3-6 prep sessions, and for some, additional sessions may be needed.
Medical Collaboration
KAP is done in collaboration with a local prescriber. If you are interested, you would complete a medical intake and screening with the prescriber. If you are determined to be a candidate, the prescriber would provide a prescription for in-office, self-administered use during your session.

*Please note that while we collaborate closely, the prescriber operates independently from my practice and maintains their own policies, scheduling, and fees for intake and follow-up appointments.

Important Safety Note for KAP:
-
You must fast for 4 hours and no fluids for one hour before taking ketamine
-
You will not be able to drive for the remainder of the day
-
A designated driver/support person is required to pick you up
-
You will remain in my care until your support person arrives

Many clients choose to engage in IFS Intensives without ketamine, and meaningful work can happen with or without its inclusion. We will move forward only in a way that honors safety, consent, and what feels most supportive for your system.

*Please note that insurance only covers one hour of IFS Intensives & KAP and that the remaining 2 hours will be out of pocket. $175 will be billed to your insurance and the remaining $275 will be charged on the day of service (your copay, coinsurance, or deductible will be charged once I receive explanation of payment from your insurance company). If I am out of network with your insurance, the full fee ($450) will be charged on the day of service and I will provide a superbill for one hour ($175).

Is an IFS Intensive Right for Me?
IFS Intensives can be a supportive option for people who want dedicated time for therapeutic work but find that traditional weekly therapy doesn’t fully meet their needs right now.
An intensive may be especially supportive if you:
-
Have a demanding schedule or work in a field that makes consistent weekly therapy difficult (such as healthcare, education, caregiving, shift work, or frequent travel)
-
Do not have the flexibility, privacy, or consistency required for ongoing weekly sessions
-
Live outside the area or have limited access to IFS therapy locally
-
Are at a transition point, decision-making moment, or period of increased stress
-
Feel “stuck” in certain patterns and want enough uninterrupted time for your system to open at its own pace
-
Have prior therapy experience and are ready to deepen or integrate your work
-
Prefer fewer, longer sessions rather than weekly appointments
IFS Intensives are not about pushing or forcing change. They are about creating enough space, safety, and continuity for parts to feel heard, for protectors to soften, and for deeper work to unfold naturally. Because intensives include preparation beforehand and integration afterward, the work is held within a broader therapeutic container. Some people choose intensives as a standalone experience, while others use them alongside or instead of weekly therapy.
How Intensives Differ From Weekly Therapy
Weekly therapy often:
-
Supports gradual change over time
-
Is woven into the rhythms of daily life
-
Allows for steady reflection and processing as experiences arise
IFS Intensives, by contrast:
-
Offer extended, uninterrupted time for deeper focus
-
Reduce the “starting and stopping” that can happen in shorter sessions
-
Give protective parts more time to relax and build trust
-
Allow parts work to unfold organically over several hours
-
Can feel immersive and contained, similar to a retreat experience

When an Intensive May Not Be the Best Fit
IFS Intensives are not right for everyone, and part of the intake process is thoughtfully exploring readiness and fit.
An intensive may not be appropriate if you:
-
Are currently in acute crisis or require frequent, ongoing support
-
Do not have sufficient external support or capacity for rest and integration afterward
-
Feel overwhelmed by longer sessions or strongly prefer shorter, more frequent contact
-
Are early in therapy and still establishing safety, stabilization, or trust
-
Are seeking a quick solution rather than a relational and integrative process
If an intensive does not feel aligned, we can explore other options together, including weekly therapy (subject to availability) or alternative forms of support that may better meet your needs at this time.
